Gazette Advertising FAQs

We have got some great opportunities for businesses to partner with The Gazette – the online newspaper for Locks Heath, Whiteley, Warsash, Titchfield and Park Gate as well as Fareham, Portsmouth and Southampton.

With advertising slots available throughout The Gazette website, and rates ranging from £10 to £15, there is something to suit every budget – you can see more on advertising packages HERE.

We know that advertising can be a bit daunting for some people if they have not heard the jargon before. So we have tried to answer some frequent questions here and will keep adding to this page as more questions come in.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is an impression?

An impression is each time your advert is displayed on a computer screen or tablet. So if you pay for 1000 impressions your advert will be displayed on a reader’s computer 1000 times.

How long will my advert be online?

We currently generate more than 1000 page impressions every day, so if your advert is with two or three others in a specific slot then it will be online for approximately two or three days. The more impressions you buy the longer the ad will be on the site. For example, 10,000 impressions would probably last just under a month at our current visitor levels.

Can I change my advert after it has been posted?

Yes you can and at no cost. All we ask is you give us a working day to make the change – we can probably do it more quickly than that though.

Will you tell me how successful my ad has been?

Yes we will. We will update you on how many impressions you have had and how many click throughs your advert has generated.
